Celebrating I -Day in 2012, add the following events to your calendar: Expo and Markets, Albert Hall on Saturday 2 December; I AM... opening and launch of Enable Canberra at Belconnen Arts Centre Sunday 2 December from 2pm; I-Day All Day Film Festival at Arc Cinema, National Film and Sound Archive, Monday 3 December; and on Tuesday 4 December the Chief Minister presents the ACT Inclusion Awards. Recent Works, etchings and watercolours by Vijaya Sen can be viewed at the Civic Library mezzanine during opening Hours, 10am - 5.30pm Monday to Saturday. The artist describes the landscape works as a tribute to her father.

All Day I-Day Film Festival

On Monday 3 December, a festival of accessible films celebrate I-Day, the International Day of People with Disability. At 1pm ACT Community Cultural Inclusion Officers and Access All Areas present G rated short films; at 3.30pm enjoy The Sapphires; and at 6pm the ACT Disability Services Commissioner's Film Festival, selected films from the Other Film Festival. Bookings are essential, phone 6248 2000.

EnableCanberra, a Centenary of Canberra Community Initiatives Fund project by Great Venue will be launched by Ms Mary Porter MLA during I-Day celebrations at Belconnen arts Centre on 2 December 2012.

AccessibiliTEA in September 2012

A meeting of AccessibiliTEA will be held at Belconnen Arts Centre on 5 September at 12pm. The group will discuss their forthcoming exhibition I am... and the activities coming up in 2012. Membership of AcessibiliTEA is open to people with disability and consumers of mental heath services. Direct AccessibiliTEA inquiries to Ann, Robin or Nicola on 6173 3322 or 6173 3320. The next AccessibiliTEA group outing is to the Drill Hall Gallery at 1pm on 12 September 2012. The group will see The Loaded Ground by Imants Tillers and Michael Nelson Jagamara and hear a floor talk by curator Tony Oates.
